Being disciplined isn't being legalistic, though many might think it is. And grace isn't a liscence to downplay what God has asked, even commanded, of us in scripture. Even though the system of IC is wrong, it doesn't mean that everything we learn there is. God expects us to grow in grace and the "knowledge" of Him, and I don't believe we can do that by downgrading His written word in favor of subjective experience.Maureenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05716971493153383770noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3259928642995486244.post-91896070639064552682010-06-12T10:56:02.544-04:002010-06-12T10:56:02.544-04:00Hi mgw, thanks for stopping by!Hi mgw, thanks for stopping by!Maureenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05716971493153383770noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3259928642995486244.post-47499405173359882842010-06-11T19:44:57.845-04:002010-06-11T19:44:57.845-04:00“People do not drift toward holiness. We drift toward compromise and call it tolerance; we drift toward disobedience and call it freedom; we drift toward superstition and call it faith. We cherish the indiscipline of lost self-control and call it relaxation; we slouch toward prayerlessness and delude ourselves into thinking we have escaped legalism; we slide toward godlessness and convince ourselves we have been liberated.” DA CarsonAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3259928642995486244.post-33472524135326089422010-06-10T22:08:11.859-04:002010-06-10T22:08:11.859-04:00Well spoken!Well spoken!mercygracewordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10122197949766258533noreply@blogger.com
